About Jennifer

Jennifer Rapacki left corporate America in 1999 to started her own business in Web Site Design and Computer Consulting. She is truly a corporate refugee having spent 20 years working as a computer engineer for major corporations:  Westinghouse Electric, Lockheed Martin and Walt Disney Feature Animation, thus her original website domain name of CorporateRefugee.com. She graduated from Purdue University in 1979 with a Bacholers degree in Mechanical Engineering and then added an MBA from the University of Phoenix in 1985. Jenny Eggers Rapacki

The PC revolution was just getting started when she entered the work world and she quickly found herself drawn to this new area. Her knack for quickly understanding new computer software and concepts lead to diverse experiences in Computer Information Systems. She has worked with a wide variety of MAC, UNIX & Windows system software and hardware.

Beyond her technical skills, one of Jennifer's loves is working with fabric. She worked as a Freelance Educator for Husqvarna Viking for several years (2002-2003) which allowed her to start merging her computer and sewing skills. Jennifer continues to teach garment and quilting classes today.

Learning to sew as a child, Jennifer has been working with fabric for over 40 years. Her skills include couture sewing, tailoring, quilting, and home decorating. Because Photoshop is the primary design tool that Jennifer uses for web design, she also started using Photoshop as a design tool for her quilts. With Adobe's release of Photoshop Elements for home use, Jennifer developed a "Photoshop Elements for Quilter's" class which teaches quilters how to edit photos/graphics and print on fabric. Jennifer also uses Electric Quilt to design quilts and teaches an introduction class called "Get started with Electric Quilt ".   More recently, Jennifer put together a lecture titled, "Computer Tools for Quilters" where she explores the use of Electric Quilt and Photoshop Elements as quilting tools and how they fit in the design process.  The lecture is a powerpoint presentation & trunk show format.  Contact Jennifer if your quilt guild or quilt store would like to schedule a lecture or workshop/class.
